CC DARE stakeholder consultation A CC DARE scoping mission was undertaken in October 2008, where a stakeholder consultation was held with a broad representation of national climate adaptation actors.

Proposals submitted Tanzania submitted 8 proposals for funding through the CC DARE programme. The range of project proposals was varied: ranging from agriculture and water sectors to indigenous methods of weather forecasting as an adaptation tool.
Projects selected The two approved projects are:

1. “Identification, documentation and dissemination of indigenous forecasting to adapt to climate change within selected communities”.

2. “Improving smallholder livelihoods through woodlots management: An adaptation to climate variability & Change in Makete District, Tanzania".
 
Current project status Project implementation started in March 2009.
Country status
in brief
Tanzania is signatory to the UNFCCC and submitted her Initial National Communication in 2003. As a least developed country, Tanzania completed the NAPAs in 2005.
