A CC DARE
scoping mission was undertaken in Senegal in May 2008, where a
stakeholder consultation was held with participants from ministries,
NGOs and development partners.
The major objective of the project is to build the capacities of the
Senegal River Delta region populations to enable them to adopt
appropriate agricultural practices and technologies in the context of
climate change.
The Department of Regional Planning is using the CC DARE support to
update the Urban Development Plans of coastal settlements of the towns
Rusfisque and Bargny, taking into consideration the negative impact of
climate change on coastal zone urban areas (e.g. sea level rise and
coastal zone erosion).
